Alexsandra Soto

Alexsandra Soto

Legal Assistant

Alexsandra was brought up in the diverse city of Washington, DC, and has developed a deep appreciation and love for the culture of her Latino community. Alexsandra is proud to be the daughter of two immigrants from El Salvador and Mexico who arrived in the United States at the age of 19. During her first year at Washington, DC’s Benjamin Banneker High School, Alexsandra participated in United We Dream, a nationwide network organized by young people that fight for immigrant rights. Alex recognized from a young age that she wanted to be able to support her community. Alexsandra went on to volunteer at Martha’s Table, assisting with early childhood education, and received training from the National African American Drug Policy Coalition (NAADPC) to raise drug abuse awareness in her community. Alex has learned valuable life lessons from these experiences, which have inspired her to continually strive for opportunities to assist others.

In the fall of 2023, Alexsandra started her journey at The Catholic University of America making her the first person in her family to pursue higher education. Alex is a student at the Busch School of Business, majoring in International Business, with the goal of serving the world around her. In the fall of 2024, Alex will serve as a Team Leader at CUA, supporting first-generation college students like herself and inspiring them to embrace the unique culture they contribute to the campus.

Alexsandra’s greatest desire is to help her parents acquire lawful permanent residency, and she wishes to help others in similar situations.

In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym and watching soccer games with her younger brothers.
